Life’s greatest questions

Have you ever had doubts about the meaning of life, or wondered why you are here? If so, this passage will bring you great comfort and answer one of life’s greatest questions, “what does the future (ultimately) hold?”. And “why am I here?” is indirectly answered.

Here’s the short and sweet four point overview of creation from start to consummation. We start with the passage below:

1 Corinthians 15:20-28

20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming.
24 Then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.
25 For He must reign UNTIL HE HAS PUT ALL HIS ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET.
26 The last enemy to be abolished is death.
27 For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him.
28 And when all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.

1) Everything starts with Christ and everything ends with Christ

Scripture teaches that Christ is the creator of all things. And scripture teaches that Christ also upholds all things by His power.

2) Man rebelled against God

Adam sinned and death came into the world. And salvation came into the world through Christ so by one man death and by one man life.

3) Putting down all rebellion

If we look at verse 25, “For He, Christ, must reign UNTIL HE HAS PUT ALL HIS ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET.” and then the last enemy to be abolished is death. Christ is reigning right now and during this time ALL rebellion and opposition to Christ will be put down.

4) God all in all

And verse 28: and when all things are subjected to Him (Christ), then the Son himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him. So that God will be our all in all. This is where God becomes our all in all at the consummation of all things, where Christ hands over creation to God the Father and God reigns supreme for all eternity.
